In a former life, we had a number of SQL scripts that created scripts to help with some of the data management of the system. One was the script to create the script to create the table. Here we table Table Specs to do that. What is lacking though is a "Data" spec… for those table where they need to be loaded with some pre-set list of data.Attached is a SQL Script that will script out the data of a table, and generate an INSERT INTO script with all of the data. The script was originally designed with Identity fields as the PKey, so I don't know how it will react to the GUID PKey the Infinity platform uses. It has not been tested in the Infinity environment, so I can't guarantee (yet) that it will work as it is with out any tweaking.
It should be fairly simple to use. Just load it up in SSMS, set the table name and the other options – there's comments in the script on what does what – make sure you are in "Set Results to Text" mode and let it run. You may also need to change settings to turn off column headers when in text mode, as it helps to keep the resulting script clean.
